Brain Cancer Clinical Trial
The Newro Foundation is working with the Queensland Institute for Medical Research (QIMR) on a joint clinical trial into a treatment for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). GBM is a particularly fast growing and aggressive form of brain cancer which, currently, is almost always fatal.
The phase I/II trial will evaluate the safety and and potential effectiveness of a new treatment that combines two different cancer treatments to treat GBM/astrocytoma grade 4. It is hoped that this world-first treatment will provide for a longer and better quality of life and lead to better survival rates.
Further information about eligibility criteria, how the trial will be run and contact details of the research team, can be found on the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry. Click on the link to find out more: ANZCTR.
